Nestled in the tranquil foothills of Bulgaria’s ancient mountains lies the canvas for our shared vision—Co-Living Varshets. This isn’t a ready-made community waiting for residents; it’s an invitation to diverse, pioneering souls to build something meaningful together.
As a founding member, you’ll help shape a unique international sanctuary that welcomes people of all ages and life paths. You won’t just move into a finished space—you’ll help design communal spaces, establish relationships with local farmers, and create systems that honor our diverse needs and contributions.
Whether you’re a digital nomad from Amsterdam, a carpenter from California. A retired doctor from Berlin, an academic from Tokyo, a young family from London. An artist from Australia, a couple from Cape Town, or a Bulgarian entrepreneur—your perspective is essential to weaving the rich fabric of our community. Every profession, background, and life situation brings value to what we’re building together.
Imagine starting your day with mountain views and mineral spring dips. Then choose your own adventure—focused work in our co-working space, teaching a workshop, tending gardens, or collaborating on community projects. Evenings bring gatherings under star-filled skies. Weekends offer cultural exploration, wellness retreats, and seasonal celebrations that honor traditions from around the world. This life balances deep roots of belonging with wings of freedom, allowing both full-time residency and periods of travel.
We’re looking for individuals whose hearts resonate with genuine connection over convenience, whose hands are ready to dig in the soil and raise roof beams together. Our ideal founding members navigate the delicate balance between self-reliance and community contribution, understanding when to step forward with initiative and when to support others’ visions.
You communicate with clarity and compassion, even during challenging conversations, and find comfort in the creative messiness that comes with building something authentic. Your eyes light up when sharing knowledge with others, and you approach learning with humility and excitement. Nature isn’t just a backdrop to you but a relationship you nurture with wonder and respect. Most importantly, you bring patience to the journey of building trust, knowing that true community emerges not overnight but through countless small acts of showing up for one another.
Picture waking to mountain views, stepping outside to harvest herbs for your morning tea from the community garden. Your day might begin with a rejuvenating dip in our mineral springs—the same healing waters that have drawn people to this region for centuries—followed by a shared breakfast with neighbors.
Some mornings you’ll retreat to our co-working space where you can focus on your remote work or entrepreneurial projects, supported by high-speed internet and the quiet concentration of like-minded professionals. Other days, you might find yourself teaching a workshop sharing your expertise, tending the permaculture gardens, or collaborating on a community improvement project.
In the evenings, you might gather around a fire under star-filled skies at our amphitheater, sharing stories and music. Weekends offer opportunities to explore Bulgarian traditions with local elders, join wellness retreats, or immerse yourself in adventure and sports, drawing from the potential of the nature reserve. During seasonal festivals, the community comes alive with celebrations that honor cultural traditions from around the world.
This life offers both deep roots and flexibility—many members will live here full-time, while others may travel periodically, with options to share your space when you’re away. What unites us is a commitment to intentional living.
